Four years ago, we launched Scoop in the San Francisco Bay Area with the simple idea that carpooling to work could help make commuters happier, healthier, and more productive in their day-to-day lives. As it turns out, the commute’s impact extends far beyond simple frustration behind the wheel, both for commuters and the companies that employ them.
We’re excited to announce our launch in Detroit in partnership with Bedrock, the city’s largest real estate firm. Detroit is the sixth major metro to join Scoop and the first off of the West Coast.
At Scoop, we’re dedicated to making carpooling as convenient and enjoyable as possible, ensuring that carpooling can be the cornerstone of an improved commute solution for enterprises and organizations.
Together with the Scoop Community and our enterprise partners, we’ve ensured that commuters across the greater San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, Portland, Reno, and Los Angeles can rely on Scoop as a sustainable alternative to driving alone.
With busy schedules, families, and various commitments, it’s sometimes hard to feel like we’re giving back to the planet in our day-to-day lives. When we’re able to take steps to help our world, it can often feel like they aren’t big enough to make a difference.
Three years ago, we launched Scoop in the San Francisco Bay Area with one route and the simple idea that technology could help make commuting more convenient and enjoyable for everyone.
Over 2 million carpools later, we’re thrilled to announce that Scoop is now available for commuters in Portland.
At the beginning of 2017, the Scoop team embarked on a process to sharpen our perspective on our vision, mission, product, and brand.

Since day one of Scoop, our team had been dedicated to helping everyone upgrade their commute. And today, we’re making it even easier for more commuters to hop on board.
